VU2MAU

I am Adhir Saiyadh. An Advanced Grade Amateur Radio Operator. My call sign is VU2MAU. I am active on the air since 1985. In those years, my first call sign was VU2UCZ (Grade II) After some time, I got my Grade I ticket with new call sign : VU2MAU

Within very short time, I also cleared Advanced Grade and till today I am "Radio Active" with same call sign, VU2MAU

Basically, I am a science student. I graduated in Physics, and done Master's in Electronics from Gujarat University. Got my PG Diploma in Computer Applications (DCA) from Bhavan's H. B. Institute of Communication and Management. But my soul was a keen home brewer and Electronics Enthusiast, so I continued my further study for AMIE in the field of Electronics and Telecommunications.

I love radio communication to such level that I decided that I will only marry with a girl who holds an Amateur Radio Operator's License. Meanwhile I mat a girl Padmaja who was post graduate in Gujarati Literature...with zero background of science and electronics..!! What to do ? Electronics, resistors, capacitors, , inductors, relays, antenna and radio sets everything was Greek and Latin for her. But only because of her love towards me, she learnt everything, gave an examination, passed ASOCE and got an Amateur Radio Station License of her own, within three months of our marriage. Knowing everything about our love story, Indian Government also allotted her similar call sign to me, and she became VU3MAU

She became famous with handle : MIKY in all over the world. This was her pet name and our mentor and veteran Ham VU2AJY OM Ajay given her this name to use on air as foreign amateur radio operators felt very difficult to pronounce her original name, Padmaja.
